THE CORE GROUP of artists at Magic Eye Inc. were at ground zero of the
great stereogram explosion of the 1990s. Between 1992 and 1995 Magic Eye books sold more
than 25 million copies world-wide. The books were released in 26 languages and appeared on
the New York Times Best Seller list for over three years, creating a huge base of trained
viewers and fans. In this period, Magic Eye collaborated with some of the biggest names in
the entertainment industry, including Disney, Warner Brothers, Lucasfilm, Marvel Comics,
and King Features Syndicate.
IN 1994, the Magic Eye comic strip, which now appears in
newspapers around the world, became one of the fastest start-ups in the history of the Universal Press
Syndicate. Currently, millions of people view Magic Eye images in their local newspaper
every weekend. Of the many companies that attempted to cash in on the new craze, only
Magic Eye Inc. remains as a full-time business whose central focus is custom stereogram
images.
